Magazine Tear Sheets
Ever skim through a magazine and find a picture of some artwork that seemed perfect for your room? Well what are you waiting for? Tear out the page, frame and hang. Instant artwork!
Didn't I tell you that this would be easy?
Blank Cards or Postcards
Buy a themed box of blank cards and frame them. It's that simple! Kick it up a notch and create a photo wall gallery while you are at it. You'll have all of your friends asking you for the number of the decorator that you hired. I won't tell if you won't tell that I helped out just a tiny bit, unless you want to let them in on on our secret. Then by all means send them my way for some help.
Wrapping Paper
Nowadays wrapping paper comes in some really pretty patterns, whimsical, geometric, stripe, or even with sheen for a glam look. If you are really on a budget, take a trip to the dollar store for some big steals. So many to choose from and you can mix and match them to match your decor. All you have to do is cut out a piece the size of your frame (tip alert, tip alert! sirens sounding-- pop out the glass part of the frame and trace it's outline on top of the wrapping paper for a perfect fit -- just don't forget to trace on the ugly side of the paper) You'll be shocked as to how much of a time saver this little trick is.
Scrapbook Paper
These are a bit more expensive, but very pretty. If you are lucky, you can find some hanging out at the clearance section. I always spot them at my local Walmart. So if you don't mind spending the extra cash, and you aren't one to have a lucky streak, then this is your best bet.
Fabric
If you are a sewing maven like I am (I dabble in sewing-no expert, but I get by), then you should have plenty of leftover scraps of fabric stashed away somewhere. Now is the time to use up your stash.
Drawer Lining Paper
Yes, you heard right. Drawer lining paper also comes in some pretty patterns nowadays. There isn't a decorating rule that says that it must only be used in your drawers. Nope! Get your imagination on and think outside the box. One idea is to pop it in a frame and create instant wall art.Now get to styling those walls of yours with these easy DIY wall art ideas!
